Seek First the Kingdom: What Does It Really Mean?

Many people speak about faith, miracles, and blessings; however, few truly understand one of the most important topics taught by the Lord Jesus: the Kingdom of God.

So, what is the Kingdom of God?

Bishop Macedo, the founder of the Universal Church, explains that many people confuse the Kingdom of God with the Kingdom of Heaven. Although the two are often treated as the same, there is a significant difference between them.

“This Wednesday, we will teach people the difference between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven,” he stated.

Entering the Kingdom of God means submitting one’s life to God’s will. In other words, it involves allowing God to reign over one’s thoughts, decisions, and actions.

“When a person enters the Kingdom of God, they submit to the Word of God. This means they begin to align their thoughts and desires with His will,” Bishop Macedo explained.

To deepen this understanding, a special study on the Kingdom of God will begin this Wednesday, 18th March. The meeting will teach participants what it means to be part of this Kingdom and how to live according to God’s principles.

The study will also explore a well-known teaching from the Gospel, recorded in Matthew chapter 6, where the Lord Jesus instructs, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Many people are familiar with this passage, yet not everyone always grasps its practical meaning.

Seeking the Kingdom of God requires more than just words or feelings; it demands a change in mindset and behavior. This includes principles such as forgiving, loving one’s neighbour, acting with sincerity, and doing good without seeking recognition.

When someone aligns themselves with the Word of God, they begin to act differently from the standards of this world, prioritizing what pleases the Lord.

The study aims to help each person evaluate whether they are truly living according to God’s principles.
